ABSTRACT

The communication interaction of Ukrainian academic libraries with the target audience regarding the formation and use of information space is an actual scientific problem. It gained particular importance in remote work conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study aims to develop a methodology for analyzing the communication interaction of academic libraries and the target audience in social media. Achieving the set goal involves the implementation of tasks: to identify the dominant social platforms used by the analyzed university libraries;to determine the quantitative indicators of posting of the dominant social platforms used by the analyzed university libraries;to identify adaptive changes in the information presentation of university libraries to meet the situational information needs of the academic community in social media. The research methodology includes methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, content analysis, grouping, generalization, stratification, and visualization. Results. The dominant social media in the information presentation of Ukrainian university libraries are Facebook and Instagram. The proposed methodology makes it possible to carry out a diachronic analysis of the functioning of the dominant social media of Ukrainian academic libraries. Quantitative indicators of coverage, posting, feedback and topics were chosen as criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of identified social media libraries. The use of coverage coefficient (CC), number of posts per day (NPD) and feedback coefficient (FC) is proposed to stratify the social media of academic libraries by levels. The remote work format in quarantine conditions led to the formation of a multi-platform information presentation of Ukrainian university libraries on social networks. The analysis of the posts' subject dynamics shows adaptation to the new conditions of communication interaction with the library's target audience. Activation of the communication interaction of the target audience and university libraries should provide for the actualization of information presentation, taking into account the features of meeting users' basic and situational information needs. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

ABSTRACT

With the onset of the 2019 coronavirus disease outbreak (COVID19), the shift from traditional in-person care to mostly virtual or remote care has been accelerated. Choosing the appropriate telemedicine communication services and interaction modes is critical to the success of remote disease management infrastructures for a better future healthcare system. This paper aims to investigate the possibility of the adoption of telemedicine in Duhok province that becomes an urgent need due to Covid-19. However, it begins with a systematic review of telemedicine applications development merits and demerits in different countries to the best fit. A questionnaire with private and public hospitals to gauge public acceptance of telemedicine in Duhok province in the Kurdistan Region has been designed and implemented. The results show that 58.8% were looking forward to this platform, whereas 34.5% were neutral, and 6.7% were negative. The survey results also show the most important services required from the point of view of patients, the public, and health care staff to be adopted and implemented in Duhok province. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The great technological convergence, which has emerged in recent years due to the appropriation of the globalized world and the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, leads us to formulate various approaches and questions, in relation to the digital identity of the users on the internet and on how to forge a global and secure digital citizenship. New media based on digital technologies such as social media, are generating a daily activity both as means of communication, interaction, and especially today as educational environments, this is leading to the formation of a digital society. This global phenomenon responds to a research study raised in university-level students from the city of Arequipa, this had as a pilot institution for the research process the Catholic University of Santa Mariá. Under the survey proposal, the implications related to social interaction in social media were determined;based on these results, some proposals were made to build safe environments for interaction in this time of pandemic and for subsequent years. It was concluded that it is essential to be able to generate and disseminate protocols and social norms to students for digital environments and social media, to establish safe environments for interaction and navigation. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Emotional states are social and highly influenced by city attributes. Population, for example, has a direct impact on parameters such as connections, communication, and social interaction based on urban scaling laws. It is likely that population also influences emotional experiences, as emotions are regulated by social activity. To analyze emotional states in social interaction, that is, emotion interaction, urban scaling properties are applied to the Twitter activity and emotion interactions of major cities in the USA and UK. To our knowledge, emotion interaction has yet to be explored through urban scaling laws. Furthermore, the world is facing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely affected the physical and emotional well-being of humans. This study compares emotion interaction during COVID-19 and before it started to analyze the impact of population on deviating emotional states. The findings suggest that emotion interaction follows superlinear scaling, i.e., there is an increase in emotion interaction with an increase in population. However, negative emotion interaction tends to increase more in response to population. The statistics on emotional interaction in cities reflect cognitive experiences of cities as well as an understanding of human behavior in expanding urban environments, which can be useful in defining the narratives of cities and developing citizen-centric sustainable and resilient city plans. © 2021 IEEE.
